July 3 2020 - The Children without parental care or at risk of losing care will be adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While not directly affected by the pandemic, they will be impacted by temporary or permanent loss of parental care, their families losing jobs, slipping into poverty, being displaced or forced to move. Food insecurity is increasing.
April 7 2020 - SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka was able to do its part to the best of its capabilities in contributing to the social support system dynamic of the matter via its Family Strengthening Programme. Despite of the strict curfew imposed, SOS Children’s Villages was able to provide all 677 families with relief packages worth LKR 1000 each.
December 25 2019 - The TUI Care Foundation launched the TUI Academy Sri Lanka which will provide underprivileged youth in Sri Lanka with hospitality training. The three-year project will be implemented in partnership with the International Tourism Partnership’s Youth Career Initiative and SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.
November 29 2019 - The Janabhimani Awards is an annual ceremony organized by the All Ceylon Media Organization to recognize individuals and organizations that has made significant contributions to Sri Lanka in various ways.
September 10 2019 - This is an annual meeting at which National Directors representing SOS Children’s Villages from Asian countries meet and discuss aspects that impact the work of SOS Children's Villages, Asia.
July 22 2019 - Icons are not born, they are made: Through hard work, sacrifice, commitment and the right backing. SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka nurtured such an icon who transcended boundaries and challenges to come out as a champion!
