The accolade was received by Divakar Rathnadurai with much gratitude and enthusiasm as he considers this an achievement and recognition for SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka as one family. He had this to say, about the award:
“I am happy that SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka was given this award in recognition of our unrelenting commitment towards children without parental care in our country from the year 1981. It is the hard work of all the board members and staff at SOS Children’s Villages, Sri Lanka that made it possible for us to win this award. I also take this opportunity to thank our international SOS staff for all the support, advice, and goodwill extended towards us. We, as one SOS Family in Sri Lanka, look forward to continue working closely with SOS Children’s Villages International into the future, in order to keep doing what we do best, that is to provide a ‘Loving Home for Every Child.’”
