The SOS Asian National Directors’ Meet 2019

The SOS Asian National Directors’ Meet is an annual meeting at which National Directors representing SOS Children’s Villages from Asian countries, meet together with Regional and Global Heads of SOS Children’s Villages International, in order to discuss significant aspects that impact the work of SOS Children’s Villages in Asia. This year, the meeting was held at SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, Piliyandala, where National and Deputy Directors, Representatives, and Regional Heads who represented SOS Children’s Villages from twelve different countries took part in, including Sri Lanka. This meeting was also attended by the President of SOS Children’s Villages International, Mr. Siddhartha Kaul, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of SOS Children’s Villages International, Ms. Shubha Murthi, and the International Director of SOS Children’s Villages International, Mr. Stewart Wilms.

At this forum that began on the 2nd of September and continued up until the 5th, and a unanimous consensus was reached to work closely with the Sri Lankan government, and also to partner with similar organizations in order to provide quality care for children who have lost, and at risk of losing parental care through ‘SOS Family Care’ and ‘Family Strengthening Programme’.
