Personality Development Camp for Youth Boys - 2021

SOS Vocational Training Centre in Malpotha is affiliated with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in Sri Lanka. This centre has been providing its ‘Agriculture Field Assistant’ course to youth boys and girls from SOS Children’s Villages and to youth in need from the community since its inception in 1991. This vocational course has a duration of one year, and upon completion, the student is awarded the NVQ-Level 3 certificate which is highly recognized.

A three day personality development camp was held at the Malpotha Vocational Training Centre for youth boys from SOS children's Villages in Galle, Nuwara Eliya, and Monaragala. This development camp began on 18th of December 2021 and continued up until the 21st.

Introduction to the Camp

Youth participants were given an introduction to all the activities that would be held throughout the three day period, and how score points will be allocated to each activity.

Talent Display

On the first day, the youth boys were provided an opportunity to showcase their talents. This platform enabled them to display their presentation and artistic skills.

 

Fieldwork Activities

Throughout the three day period, the youth boys were given agricultural field work activities to take part in. They were split into teams and given tasks and goals to achieve.

 

Morning Activities

Each morning, throughout the three day period, the youth boys were provided advice on how to work towards improving their future and goal setting.  

Educational & Knowledge Activities

Each day, at the end of field activities, the youth boys took part in educational and knowledge programs that were imparted through practical activities. These activities also helped in enhancing their personality, attitude, and team spirit.

 

 

Spiritual Activities

In the evening time, the youth boys engaged in spiritual activities.

Awarding Prizes

Under the patronage of the National Director, Mr. Divakar Ratnadurai and Project Director, Mr. Kumar Muralindra, at the end of the camp, prizes were awarded to winning teams and to youth who actively participated in this three day development camp with dedication. The youth boys also gave their feedback about the camp. In his speech, the National Director pointed out the importance of conducting such development camps and its history which marked the end of the successful three day development camp.
