The SOS Vocational Training Centre in Jaffna is facilitated with all the equipment it needs to provide a complete and comprehensive vocational training for all courses it provides. Located in Nallur, Jaffna, this SOS Vocational Training Centre was estblished in April 2018 with the aim of supporting youth in need to build a career and a better future.

English Language

This is a one year vocational training course which covers reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English Language. A six month classroom training session is provided in which all theoretical aspects of the subject are covered. After completion of theory, another six months of on-the-job training is provided where the student will be allocated to an institution, school, or an organisation where they will put to practice what they have learned. After successful completion of the one year course, the student will be awarded the NVQ Level 4 certificate.

Computer Applications Assistant

This is a one year vocational training course which covers all Microsoft Office Packages, E-Mail, and Internet. A six month classroom training session is provided in which all theoretical aspects of the subject are covered. After completion, another six months of on-the-job training is provided where the student will be allocated to an organisation where they will put to practice what they have learned. After successful completion of the one year course, the student will be awarded the NVQ Level 3 certificate.

Refrigeration & Air-Condition

This is a one year vocational training course which covers all aspects of repair and maintenance of refrigerators and air conditions, including welding techniques needed when repairing these machines. A six month classroom training session is provided in which all theoretical aspects of the subject are covered. After completion, another six months of on-the-job training is provided where the student will be allocated to an organisation or a workshop where they will put to practice what they have learned. After successful completion of the one year course, the student will be awarded the NVQ Level 3 certificate.

This is a one year vocational training course which covers bridal make-up, hair styling, ironing, and skin care. A six month classroom training session is provided in which all theoretical aspects of the subject are covered. After completion, another six months of on-the-job training is provided where the student will be allocated to an organisation or a salon where they will put to practice what they have learned. After successful completion of the one year course, the student will be awarded the NVQ Level 3 certificate.
